About The Door Stripping Process
All paint stripping and varnish removal is completed using a solution of hot caustic soda to leave a clean surface in its natural state, completely free of paint. Though this proved very effective at removing both paint and protective layers of varnish, our door stripping specialists are skilled in the practice and ensure the original material is left unharmed.
When stripping doors, we do ask that customers take the time to remove all door handles and locks prior to collection, though door hinges may be left on.
How Long Does The Process Take?
Though the washing and stripping of doors and furniture can be completed rather quickly, we complete the treatment by “slow drying” the furniture in question, leaving it to dry for 3 days to help return the material back to its former glory. The complete process to strip, neutralise and dry doors takes around 5 to 6 days.
Metal Items
We can also strip several metal items including wrought iron gates, radiators, fireplaces and metal garden furniture.
Sanding & Waxing
A sanding and waxing service for both doors and furniture is also available at an extra cost (see price list for details).
Doors / Furniture Collection
Our collection service can be pre-booked for a set day and time. Alternatively, collection usually takes place 1 or 2 days from request.
